I'm looking for a manufacturer of forged steel crankshafts. I want the motor to stand up to 10000-11000 rpm blasts when i get stupid. i cant find a manufacturer that makes the cranks and they should. maybe im lookin in the wrong place.thanks in advance.
Check with Scat. They make alot of stroker cranks.

PS that alot of weight to be slinging around at 10,000rpm, I can see maybe 8,000 for a short period of time. Sounds like you might need a rev limiter. HEE HEE
10-11 grand out of a big block rotating assembly??? I wish you luck!! theregoestheneighborhood, if you make this a reality be sure and keep us posted. I'd really like to hear about a buildup of this type. I hope you have lots and lots of $$$$$$ to spend.
Prepare to open the wallet because the cranks are about 2 or 3 thousand dollars. Also I wish you the best of luck in keeping eveything else together when you spin yuor 10 or 11 thousand rpms. Do not be surprised if you get a lot of negative feed back on your post.
ok i was kind of kidding when i said that about the 11000 rpm. it will be consistantly shifted around 9000 so if i was to get a bad track, it might turn that tight. the total weight for the truck will be, dont laugh, 3600 lbs. i just want to know if someone has any idea where i can get a forged steel crank.
oh btw, pro stock bikes turn 14000 rpm, and there nothing more elegant than scaled down cammer motors.
And just how much is a crank worthy of 9,000 rpm. What were you planning to use for rods or for a block? I have a buddy that runs a 557 and it was just fine to 800 horses and turning it to 7200 but when he upped the cam and tried to go 7400 it ran over the crank. It was not a billet though. This was in an SVO block and it was completely destroyed.
All I have to say is balance the thing until there is no IPS level if you plan on spinning that fast. The machine shop that did my balance job got me down to .004 But that was a 3 day balance job. Normally it takes only 2 hours. I can see mallory metal being used on your crank.
Hired Gun,
It's a Crower billet with BB Chevy rod journals. 2600 bucks. not cheap but hey it'll last, I think?!?!?! it's probably going into an svo iron or aluminum block, who knows. later guys.
oh, btw. rods are crower 6.8 inch titanium, and block is an svo.

9000 RPM is attainable and would run in the neighborhood of $40,000-50,000 (engine only) or the appoximate cost of a NHRA Pro Stock engine. Expect to replace valve springs and check rod/main bearings every 4 to 5 runs.
