Looks like you have a Ford 3.50 to 1 rearend. If it's smooth on the back of the rearend pumpkin it's a 9 inch. If it has a sheetmetal cover with bolts holding the cover on, it's a 8.8 rearend.

OP has a 1981, 8.8" introduced in 1983.
