Hey guys, this is my first post, but I've been looking around the site for a while now. I purchased my first Ford a year ago.....2013 F-150 Lariat. I really like the truck but I have had a few problems and am looking for a little advice from others who may have been in the same spot as me. I have had the front wheel bearings replaced twice, as well as both front axles. It seems to start acting up about every 15k miles or so. I'm at about 46000 miles now and started having the same problem again, noise in the front end. It was suggested today at the dealership that maybe this is a case to go with the "buy back" program from Ford and get into something different. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and if they take care of you, or if I should be worried. I'm not bashing Ford, and I get it that sometimes, things just happen. Just wanted to hear from anyone who may have ended up in the same spot as me and willing to give a little advice.
Sorry about your truck, it's sad that your dealer has been unable to fix it once and for all.
You'll have to consult your particular states lemon laws to get a firm answer on your issue. Ford isn't in the business of buying back trucks just to make someone happy. There have been a few on the F-150 and Superduty forums who have been successful in getting their truck replaced or purchase back but it's typically when push comes to shove.
For those who are posting behind me, please remember that we aren't lawyers and giving legal advice is a no no.
Hopefully Crystal from Ford customer service will see this and chime in.
I have successfully lemon law'd a chevy and a Nissan. It was pretty simple. on the chevy they were unable to cure a drive line slop problem after 3+++ attempts. I had to document the complaint, they validated it, and they gave me back every penny the vehicle cost me, including tax and license after 2 years of ownership. I purchased another similar vehicle from same dealer and was very happy, with no issues. Just got a lemon...
The Nissan had a manual trany shifitng issue. We just agreed to a free extended warranty covering the offending components. I kept the car and retained confidence that if it failed again, we were covered. It didn't fail again and everybody was happy.
Save all repair receipts, take notes each time you bring it in. be very detailed in your service visit complaints, don't let the service writer put words in your mouth or thier computer system. Be persistant on getting the issue resolved. Don't take it personal, you just got a bad one, work "with" the service manager/district manager to repair the unit. Let them/guide them to the decision that it cannot be repaird to a safe reliable condition. We went through the Bureau of automotive repair (BAR) who assisted/mediated the issues with us and the dealer/mfg.

TS is just doing his due dilligence as a moderator. Can't have shadetree lawyers giving advice on the forums with real life issues that could affect someones life. Now if someone is legitimately a bar certified lawyer then great and cool for the assist, but put it into PM's or other means so that this website/moderators assume no liability for any decisions or outcomes.

Your personal experience was helpful and much appreciated sir.
Thanks for the replies. I actually wasn't the one who brought it up, the dealership mentioned it as a possibility. He also said it was a difficult process that can take months to complete. I have all of the service records as all the wok was done at the same dealership i purchased it at.
I'm more interested in trying to figure out what the problem is. I haven't really done much except a lot of highway miles. I have an appointment to take it in next week. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
It's important to remember that lemon law proceedings are covered under state law. Which means that each state has different requirements. Of course there's more to it than that, as there's an arbitration process that can be initiated outside of any state's lemon law. You'll find the details of that in the back of your owner's guide.
I am really hoping it doesn't come down to any laws at all. The dealership has been really good so far. I haven't had to pay a dime out of pocket, just the inconvenience so far. I'm just getting a little nervous as the end of my warranty nears, I don't want to be stuck with a broken truck and the repair bills to go with it. I will most likely just have them fix it next week, then start looking into something different for peace of mind. I use it way to much to have this much down time already on a brand new vehicle. I was just curious if anyone has had any experience with the buy back from Ford. How it went, how long it all took, how do they calculate the buy back price, etc. I'll try to keep this updated with progress reports as I try to get things resolved.
They can escalate your issue to your regional customer service manager. I'd explain your concerns and maybe they'd be able to offer you an extended warranty.

As long as you keep this ticket open you'll be fine. Don't let your service writer close the ticket.
Additionally, Ford parts and labor are now warranted for 2 years and unlimited miles unless otherwise stated. Replacement engines and transmissions I believe carry a more comprehensive warranty.
You'll be fine. Tom illustrated to you how the system works and who to contact. The system is in place for the consumer. Once you file a claim, it's no longer between you and your dealer, it's between you and Ford. Ford will use the dealer to try and mitigate the issue. Your dealer isn't going to get hurt here unless you choose not to trade with him again.
Keep us in the loop if you please and again, welcome to FTE.
Thanks for the direction guys. I'm not even mad, just want to make sure I get what I paid for. The dealer has been great so far, I even understand, sometimes, stuff like this just happens. I'll definitely give Ford the opportunity to keep my business, and I will for sure use my current dealer for future vehicles.
I should have some answers by next week sometime as I have an appointment Tuesday to drop it off. I'll post what I find out after I hear back from the dealer.

Hi Usseqi,
Reach out to me via PM so I can look into this. I'll need your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership. Once I have that info, I'll be able to investigate some ways to help.
