76 F-250 4x4 390 head gasket issues.
Hello All,
I have a 76 F-250 highboy 4x4 with a 390. From what I understand the motor was rebuilt about 15k miles ago but a few days ago the drivers side head gasket started leaking water right at the far bottom right hand corner of the head near the firewall. I am not sure what would have caused this but the motor still runs like a top and there is no water in the oil or in the exaust from what I can see. Has anyone run into this issue? If so whould you think its a cracked or warped head? or simply just a bad gasket? I am going to pull everything apart on this motor to replace the gastet after the 4th and I need to know what gaskets I need and also what the foot pounds are for the intake man and also the heads? I have read that 140 is the total ft lbs but does this go up an sequence or just tighten it down to 140 and go? Any input would be greatly helpful
Thanks,
Brad
