From what Ive been told,I have a Dana 60 up front as well as in the rear. Could you tell me what gear ratio my truck is by the serial number? The tag is missing. The serial number is 520093R. Thanks!
AXLE code stamped on the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch. When decoded, the rear axle info will be known, but usually not the front driving axles of 4WD's.
Dana's have an ID tag located under one of the bolts that retains the inspection cover to the housing. But many of these tags are missing today.
Some Dana 60 F/R axles have an ID tag bolted to the housing adjacent to the inspection cover. Have a 7 or 8 digit Dana ID number on them.
Dana 7 or 8 digit ID numbers will be found stamped on axle tubes.
Number still doesn't look right. What's the truck and what's the BOM on the rear axle? Most BOM's I've seen are like: Front Dana 60 = 610023-2, Rear Dana 60 = 603901-1. Those are off a 78 Ford F250.
