If you replace your Oil cooler I would suggest to flush the Hell out of it with the thermostat OUT with VC-9.
Also if you replace the Oil cooler I would backflush the Oil Cooler itself just flush the cooling system and use the Oil cooler as the Filter cause you will remove it when your done
Just make sure to pull that thermostat Sorrey I know I am whipping a DEAD Horse but its the Key to Success
But if you try to Backflush your existing Oil Cooler Don't pull the thermostat and Don't use cleaners just try to push the Junk out
