How many of you with 4x4 trucks have the floor shifter?
Just curious what the breakdown is of floor shift vs. dash **** 4x4's is with these trucks.
It seems like most of them I looked at before buying mine had the dash ****. Mine has the floor shifter.
Any advantages/disadvantages to either style? I've always felt that the floor shifter would be less likely to have problems. I know my dad's old '95 F150 with the push-button 4x4 had some issues, but never had problems with any floor shifted trucks.
Well, I had one issue with it in my '75 F150 4x4. I was out wheelin' and got the t-case jammed into neutral. I wasn't being nice to it.

I have the floor shifter in my '07 XL. Only electric shift Fords I've ever owned were both Rangers, and they worked but the shift motor was slow to come out of 4 lo in the '92 that I had.. I came from owning a 1995 Chevy K1500 and even tho it was a manual T-case, Chevy used a shift actuator in the differential and it was very slow to actuate
I think in the '04-'08's, the floor shifter goes away with the XLT package unless it was optioned back when ordered

That's good to know. So are both HI and LO shifted electronically with the dash **** equipped trucks?
