I have a hydraulic clutch in my 51. It accepts both DOT 3 and DOT 4 hydraulic fluid. I originally put DOT 4 in it a few months back. It had a small leak and after fixing the leak I inadvertently refilled it with DOT 3. Is that a serious problem? I have gone ahead and emptied out the mix of DOT 3 and 4 (er...well...I sent my son out to do it...see pic below . Is there anything else I need to do to flush the system out or can I call it good and refill it with one kind or the other? My brakes are DOT 3 only. Would it be wisest to stick with DOT 3 for both systems or is there a good reason to go with DOT 4 in my clutch since I can?
