I've gleaned the interwebz looking at ways to do this and ain't nuttin' cheap. I'm gonna run the 4 sp until I find a bell to send to John @ Yblock.com. I'll be saving my money for awhile because I plan on using my truck, well, like a truck. The T5 seems to be too light for any serious towing so I'll wait till I can afford a TKO500.

You want a T5 in the Fairlane or a truck?
John's modification won't help you one bit with a TKO. His is only for the T5 and the bolt pattern is not the same. You will be pretty much on your own with a TKO install. The t5 or tko will not have a granny 1st which is something to seriously consider for a truck that will be used to haul loads regularly. You might be better off to change the rear gear to something a little taller if better highway mpgs is what you are after.

I'll have to dig a bit deeper. The TKO is available in many configurations. It stands to reason, looking at this, that the TKO will fit the Ford small block. If so it should be the same as a T5 as far as mounting. But I may be wrong. Thanks for the heads up
