I'm looking for some info on bed sizes for the 99-07 series trucks.
Are the 8 foot beds identical across all of the models? I'm looking at some truck caps and wondering about their interchangeability between different models.
Is the 8ft bed on the F250 SRW, F350 SRW, and F350 DRW the same size? If I bought a truck cap to fit one, could I move it to another as long as it was still an 8ft bed?
I was on a site yesterday checking truck caps and apparently the SD has two types of beds a side from lenght , one is a fleet bed and the other is a little narrower with fuller fender flares...so no..all 8 ft beds are not the same....there is a fleet and non fleet version.

I believe the site you were on is mistaken. SD's only have one bed width. There is no "stepside."
UNLESS POSSIBLY- they are confused about the 99 F250 NON-Super Duty that was based on the F150 body style. I'm not sure if it came in the narrow bed either though.
Bonus question - does the '08 and up model use the same bed as the '99-'07? I know the tailgates from at least the '08 will fit the older models, but not sure if the bed dimensions are the same.....for some reason I doubt it, but I'm curious.

For the purposes of truck caps- the tailgates with the SUPER DUTY script are different on top. If you use one of these tailgates, you'll have to keep it in mind when buying your cap.

Different how? I wasn't aware of this, so thanks for the tip! I already have an 8 ft windowless 'glas cap on my 250 that I paid blood for. I was wanting a script tailgate, but I'm holding off now based on your info until I know more and can determine if it'll make enough difference to rule out the scripted gate.
The top of the tailgate is shaped a little different. Some cap manufacturers make an adapter piece that you can add to the bottom of the hatch to compensate.
Is your windowless cap cab height, like my father's truck in my sig pic below? I've been looking for one for ages.
Yep, the cap pictured looks like a match for mine; same S-Cab and color. Hard to find used; you almost never see windowless caps. I like 'em because any contents of the bed are out of sight. Much less tempting to f*******s...
My windowless caps have both been A.R.E. brand; no special reason except the closest dealer had 'em at the best price. I've never had any negatives with either one. Well-made, well-finished, good fit and lockup.
For 2 years I’ve been looking for a shell to fit my 1999, F250 7.3L SuperDuty, PowerStroke, Super Cab. I guess it’s a 6.5’ bed. Cab height/white would be nice, with or without windows, but I’m wide open. It’s just gotta fit so my stuff (music equipment in road cases) doesn’t get wet!! I have travel far and wide but the ones I find don’t fit. My bed is wider at the cab than any the tailgate. The shells I find are also curved where the shell meets the cab and mine needs to be flat. None of the folks that have the shells that I’ve looked at can verify exactly what it came off of.
Ive gotten quotes from my local Leer dealer for a 100r and it’s right at $2500.00. Too much money for my old 99. I know, “If I wanna play, get ready to pay!”
