seems that the stiction issue has returned. No.1 cyl. contribution...............now my question is can I get away with just changing one? after a long run down the highway and back to around town the injector quits. but let it sit for a bout 1hr starts to work.............I think i am going to change it. Just dont have the ching to replace them all right now.

Yea you can just change one.

 

You might want to check out this thread first. I couldn't link to it but I did copy and past so I apologize for all the extra stuff. dr67 does a great job detailing how to clean them. If I have trouble, that's the direction I'll go first. Harbor Freight is putting the ultra sonic cleaner on sale at the end of this month.

I would say if he has to leave it running for an hour before the injector starts working then he has more than stiction

 

actually I have to leave it off for at least an hour. Once the injector goes down.........but it makes no sense ..........so i will change it out.........it is my daily driver if i buy an injector, i can rebuild the bad one and have one to rotate through the engine if needed............now where to purchase a stock injector?

When this happens after the injector quits can you still start the engine right after it starts to act up?

 

yep starts and runs just with a dead hole.........a little rough.............but she starts all the time

 

When it acts up have you tried to unplug the injector and plugging it back in? Maybe in the connection.

 

no I havent....never thought of that .........cause it always goes away..........

 

My thoughts is when it gets hot it could expand the connection and when it cools makes connection.

 

i see......but it would do it around town when at operating temps..........dont ya think? it only happens on the highway run about 80mph taching 2250..........for a distance.........maybe at least 20mi. minimum.......I think there is a burr on the spool in the injector........or a big chunk of something hahahahaha but i think it needs to come out to get looked at

and i do appreciate it............thats why we post on here...to get the other input that we dont think of.......maybe i will check the plug on the injector.....never thought to look because of the fact that only happened on the highway
