It could be the convertor but mine acted like that, not on a hill but on the flats and a week later it was gone. Trans that is. Its was something in the center section I believe, at least that's what John Woods told me.
The trans in these trucks are the weak point. Make sure the guy knows how to build these R4100's for the 7.3's You may want to upgrade some parts to help make it bullet proof over a stock trans.. their are a couple of trans builders on the site who build a solid transmission that everyone like to use.. I know john woods is one and i can't remember the other.. Im sure others will chime in on what you should use for a new torque converter and other internal parts
