I have head lights, hi and low beams, interior dome light, exterior cab light, running lights, all the idiot lights and radio. But I don't have any instrument lights. I started to take my instrument cluster apart, but it seems like it's going to be hard to remove with the speedo cable and such.
Any thoughts on taking the gauge cluster out to replace the light bulb(s), or have a suggestion to help me trouble shoot the lights?
I wouldn't think all the instrument light bulbs would burn out at once. I would guess more in the light switch. Do the lights by the heater controls light up? Have you tried turning the **** on the light switch back and forth?
I have a 92 f150 custom and my headlight switch will act up and i will have to turn it till the lights turn on, but if i move it past that point they shut off.
Might try turning your headlight **** slowly to see if they turn on at a certain point.
If nothing else (ash tray light, a/c lights, wiper switch light, etc) is working either it might be a bad fuse. The radio has two lighting circuits, one after the first fuse and one after the second fuse, so the radio light doesn't mean all fuses are good. If all fuses are good, then I would look at the light switch. A wire may have come out or something.
Yours may be a little different, but hopefully this gives you a good starting point.
It ended up being a fuse that was missing completely. I thought the space was just a blank, but it ended up being the space that brought the cluster to life. And is surely wasn't the space that was indicated on the fuse diagram. Crazy.
