So I have '93 ford f-250. It actually has a 6.9 with a C6 that was swapped into it. I am having some issues with cold starts. If its been sitting for a 3-5 hours or the block heater has been plugged in I get a rough running pickup with white smoke until I give her quite a bit of throttle. If its been sitting more than 8-9 hours and its cold out(its always cold out right now) I get a start an then it runs rough and stalls. Then it takes quite a bit of cranking to get it started. Im testing the glow plugs this weekend, but would like to get some input, cant hurt right?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but fuel issue? Air intrusion?
If your block heater works and it runs like crap after being plugged in glow plugs aren't going to help (not saying they're good, but you can roll them out if the heater is good)
Long cranking could be air in the lines that you're working out and it will start/run ok then
