68 disc conversion

So I've saved a couple of tech articles on disc brake conversion. Am I correct that you can replace the whole I-beams from a 73-79 donor OR you can use your current I-beams and just use the spindles from the donor vehicle? Any advantage or disadvantage to either method?

Think of it this way: it is much easier to basically drop 2 bolts and a hose and get the whole I-beam than to have to play with the kingpins if you take just the spindles.

I dropped the complete I-Beam set from a 76, slid it over and bolted it up under my 66. Everything is bolthole exchange. I included power steering with the disc brake swap. While it is not easy it is simple.
