Deltas are about 40 degrees off (EOT at 65 is about 230) and I am gearing up for an Oil cooler replacement and coolant filter w/ a switch to the cat red coolant at the same time project anbd I don't know where to begin with the coolant filter. I looked at a sinister and that looks pretty good.
Thoughts?
side note everything else is good on the truck right now... inside EGR valve is dry, and I don't puke out of my degas bottle and I will pull over and let my truck cool off if the EOT's get above 240 which is a total PITA!
I have the Sinister kit. Look good, works as advertised. I think it's just a matter of price and looks really. Some kits do have nicer hoses and valves but they all use the same spin on filter elements. It's possible to build your own and flow a little more coolant through it. I think Blade35 could tell you more about how to hook it up if your interested.
The ford P/n for the oil cooler is 3C3Z-6A642-CA . It comes with a seal kit.
Hey John,
Did you T into the small line from the radiator or hook it up to the larger hose under the degas bottle? Maybe it was your set-up I'm thinking of? NAPA parts and drilling out the fittings for more flow.
There you go Rusty, Fal had to screw with it.... The holes are pretty small
Agreed, the holes are small. I think the reason being is the filter housing is listed on Napa's Web site as a fuel filter houseing. Hence the smaller 5/16" hole for fuel. OP don't expect to save any money building your own. If anything it's a little more expensive.
