Hey guys, I got a 79 F100 Auto with C6 trans & just wondering if anyone has had problems mounting long tube headers on them..
I have the engine pulled at the moment & I've seen some pictures where the reducer is almost facing the cross member, but others where they just clear it..
Just wondering if you guys could post some pics to help out my decision, I'm going to be making an order from JEGS in a month or so..
many years back my dad tried putting long tube headers on his 79 F100 with the 302/C6 and they would not fit. Tranny seemed to be too big. I'm not sure exactly what the headers were hitting. I was about 12 at the time so my info isn't very precise. Not sure what headers they were. Only thing I know is they were long tube and would NOT fit.
Hi def, I seen the long tube headers from the summit racing brand fit. There made by patriot from what I hear. Not only that, they seem to fit gt40p heads too if you plan on going that way for power gains on your 302. I have a set of BBK shortys I was going to use on this build but they don't work with the GT40p Heads.
