Sometimes you get a head scratcher prob that gives you fits. One note on the points and distributor topic. I've had my 390 truck for 27yrs and was real good at replacing p & r on it. Then about 12yrs ago I took them out and installed a Pertronix kit on it. Haven't had to touch it since.

You can forget about the timing chain because there isn't one on an inline 6.
