Well, the g/f and I went up north and spent a weekend on Paradox Lake a few weeks ago.
For the 4th, we've got all sorts of exploding toys, and we'll spend the night playing with that stuff (big kids, I tell ya)
In August, right during track season, I'll be going up to the Thousand Islands for a few weeks, right outside of Alexandria Bay.
Then, it's home, back to the track to enjoy the horses.
Well the week of August 4 I will be hiking into Avalanche Lake in the Beartooth Mountains for nine wonderful days of fishing the pristine waters for westslope cutthroat trout. Its an 11 mile hike starting at 5,865 FAS and ending at ~12,000 FAS. FAS = Feet Above Sealevel.
For the 4th I have currently invested $211 in my festivities, the other guys that will also be participating have invested $3000+ in the event, Today I am going to pour some concrete forms for the 12 inch artillery shells.
July 16th-18th I'll be at the Clarion Inn and Convention Center in Carlisle, PA, for the annual CORSA National Convention and Show. That's the Corvair Society of America, and this is the closest the national meet has ever been to Western New York. Car show, road rally, concours judging, and about 400-500 fanatical corvair owners with their cars. If any of ya live in the Harrisburg/ Carlisle area, stop by and say hi! Just look for the dark teal '65 Corvair Monza convertible with the chrome luggage rack on the back. Tell me you're from FTE and the beer's on me! I'll try to post a picture of it here- anyone know how to attach a JPG to one of these posts?
Lets see, the kids leave for a cruise on the 4th of july. so I guess me and my wife get a vacation while they are gone. August 5th to the 13th my wife and I will be flying to Van Couver, WA for my dad's 70th b-day. Plan on goin to the cabin at the river for the fourth and pretty much every other day I gat the chance. The crappie are still biting good and I am plannin on catching them all. Now that I am a state employee, I am starting to understand what vacation means.... They actually pay me NOT to come to work!!! what a novel idea!!!
I don't think I'm allowed vacations. The closest I will get is if a holiday happens to fall on either the first day of my work week or the last and kicks off a 4 day weekend. at which point I will probably spend it either fishing, hunting, mudding or working on the trucks. All depends on what holiday. The 4th I plan on spending under, over and around my '79 F150 trying to get it ready to paint.
