drive the truck for a while so it's up to operating temp.turn the filter off and replace the filter filled with diesel,diesel kleen,atf or the like.
if it's a manual trans do this at the top of a long hill and pop the clutch and let engine start the truck.if the hill is long enough she might start and purge the air by the time you get to the bottom.otherwise,crank the engine so it primes the fuel system.crank for 15 seconds without letting off.stop.let the starter cool down for at least 2 full minutes.crank again for another full 15 seconds.continue as required.she might run a bit rough but clear up once it purges the air.
