Im trying to buy a house at the same time lol so before I go into looking at the bulletproof systems, I am going to take a day off and try to figure out switching the sensors. Just to see what kind of numbers that gives, then the TSTAT, and if its still whack then maybe start looking at oil cooler options

If it does come down to Oil Cooler replacement If you take the time to Flush the cooling system Correctly the OEM Setup will work just fine its a Proven Fact

Also keep in mind with the BPD Air to Oil cooler setup you have a Lube system capacity of around 28QTS

Well you can Only change 15QTS at a Time

So that leaves ALOT of Dirty & Sheared Oil in there to Contaminate your Fresh Oil

You can run a Bypass Filter but you cant change the Fact its sheared to thinner weight. SO you could change oil more Often Sure but maintenance costs just went up in addition to Initial cost of the BPD Setup

All I am saying is there is NO Total Magical Solution out there, there all a Trade-Off
The BPD is a Good Product HELL its a GREAT Product itself, But in turn the OEM setup works just Fine if the cooling addressed properly

Not sure it' s that much oil, I think its 20. Also one to two qts comes out with the filter, total is 16 come out and that much goes back, inc pre-filling the filter.

My only concern is a fender bender on the driver front fender taking out the filter or hose. Or a flat shredding taking out the filter.

From what Tim said it takes 27-28qts from a dry Block to fill with the BPD setup

My oil changes equal 13.5qt Filter and ALL

Any more then that and I have Bed plate Seep and that hanging Bell House drip

From a DRY block, maybe, but a BPD oil change is about 17 quarts I believe. More oil capacity=more better, I always say...

well I agree more oil is Better if you can change it

I haven't heard any mention they was able to change more then the 15Qt with it But never asked Directly I thought 15qt has been mentioned a few times with the BPD setup

Some how I thought with that setup you only change 50% maybe a Hair more

OEM the bible states 15qt capacity lube system so IDK if that's right cause I know it holds 2 qt at least in the HPOP Reservoir and few other places like hpo rails

Im thinking stock is 18-19qts around there total oil

That was what I used to do a totally dry motor.

This is what mine takes for a "normal" oil changes too. I run the filter about 10K and change the pan oil at 1/2 way.

TrainHornMan,

Did you ever figure out the issue?
Did you find out how to test the oil filter drain valves?

I might be having the same issue.

Thanks,
Troy
