Motorcraft FL-2016.....you can get them at Advanceauto.
Heck, you can get them at Wal-Mart. To the op, always use only Oem air, fuel, and oil filters. This is VERY important for the health and longevity of the 6.0.
When you change out your pos Fram filter be sure to check your stand pipe to make sure it isn't damaged. There are little tangs on the top that can break off and affect how the filter works.
Also, check your oil level and make sure it's not too low. That can contribute to oil temps.
If no damage to stand pipe, New filter, and oil levels are good and you still have problems then you either have a jammed up bypass valve or your oil cooler is clogged on the water side. If it's your oil cooler, save your pennies and get a bulletproof diesel air-oil cooler with remote canister filter. Consider it an investment and you can thank me later.
This is true....however there have been people who have found non Motorcraft filters in the Motorcraft boxes at Wal-Mart. Being this guy is brand new to the 6.0, and would probably not have clue what a "real" FL -2016 looks like, I suggested AdvanceAuto
Is your water thermostat stuck open or failing? Is your degass bottle spitting coolant, or over filled? Can you read codes? That would really help point in the right direction. I dont think until you have the ECT over 190, the oil temp means much, it tends to heat faster and not be cooled in the oil cooler as efficeintly at colder ECT.
Not sure..any way to check this? Nothing spilling over coolant wise. I have the higher psi cap. I never had this high of a delta tho.

I lied.. Its a STP filter. It also came with a plastic piece that goes on top of the spring then the filter goes on it.. The instructions said to put it on

Good to know about the OEM stuff. I know the oil level wasnt low.. High more than anything. How do i check damage on the stand pipe?
All this happened because of an oil change idk if its an oil cooler

Ya didn't research enough...you put an STP filter in there.
haha i guess your right.. Alright im off monday. Ill pick one up and see what it does..
Ill try and get numbers after the truck sits over night
If your driving it every day, just swing by the store and pick up a new filter. The replacement will only take 2 minutes including popping the hood and mess free. Get that crap filter out before you do damage.

I would park the truck and walk, catch a cab, ride a bus or bum a ride from a buddy and get that filter. The EOT may or may not be truely hot.... what's more alarming is you may be hurting your HPOP with unfiltered oil.

People just don't seem to fully buy into the importants of OEM filters ................
It is an age-old battle.
Do you have the picture for the difference in the oil caps? I'm wondering if he might have an AM cap and not know it. That with an OEM size filter can cause problems also.
I know this is now an STP filter discussion, but it's good to restate that while Fram filters used to be the same as Ford OEM - same manufacturer, same patent numbers and no little plastic piece - Fram filters changed about a year ago and now do need the little plastic spacer/shim piece.
In the first pic it's the one on the right that I have. Like I said everything was fine til I changed the oil. So I'm sure its not the cap
That's the OEM cap on the right (or at least it's the right comparative height). Sounds like something is off kilter inside the housing making the oil bypass the cooler. I'd at least open it up and see.

I can confirm this about the Frams. I just took these pics at Wal-Mart minutes ago. They're putting the little plastic adapter in the box.
