I ordered a set of turbine wheels for my highboy and some 37" hummer tires to match them. I need to know how I am going to correct my speedometer. Surely with all of the people out there running these tires, someone has corrected their speedometer. If I am understanding all of my findings, then a 16 tooth driven gear is the fastest gear offered by Ford. How close would that get me to being accurate? Searching has been nearly fruitless for me.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Truck is a '74, has 4.10 gearing, np205 xfer case, and an np435 4-speed.
Do you see the blue line with User CP, Albums, FAQ? See the search on that line?
It has a drop down search menu arrow, go to the "Advanced Search" option, type in there say "blab la bla" and then go to the lower right column and high light 73-79 forum.
Select it and then you will have a detailed search just in the 73-79 forums.
Telling me how to search, after telling you that searching has proven to be useless does what exactly? Thanks for nothing..
hoffy, I know that I have to swap out my driven gear, and the fastest gear offered from anyone is a 16 tooth gear... that is why I asked how closely a 16 tooth gear would get my speedometer....
spikinfool, I ordered my tires from Tucson, AZ.

Well since you were so polite about it (insert sarcasm) I'll explain myself. I posted the directions on how to use the "Advanced Search" option because most people do not know about it, and it works great for me by the way.
Did you even bother to click on the very informative links I posted? FYI I got one of the links by using the advanced search.....
If I had the exact answer to your question I would of posted it. But since I did not I thought I would at least try to be helpful and give you some helpful advice to maybe find the answer, with your reply, guess it was not.
