General rule of thumb regarding plugs:

GM: AC Delco
Ford: Autolite or Motorcraft
Chrysler: Champion
Euro import: Bosch or NGK
Asian import: Denso or NGK.

NGK does make a quality product that works well in almost everything. When getting a cap/rotor set, look for a cap with brass terminals. I'd pay a bit more for wires that are the correct length, we've all dealt with the cheap ones that are a mile too long. The stock ignition system will be sufficient for a stock vehicle. Start increasing compression, adding nitrous or blowers, then it will be time for upgrades. FWIW I have seen MSD boxes work on an ignition scope, and I have seen/felt them create a smoother idle. Ford actually had their own factory equipped Multi Strike ignition for some time.

Throughout this thread, I have learned about the need for copper core plugs. I got Autolite 25's. I learned about the need for a non-aluminum terminal Dist. cap. I got a Accel cap and rotor kit for $17.84. The wires that I am looking at is Moroso 8mm. I've heard of Moroso, so I assume that they are good wires. I was finally just trying to decide on a coil, and was trying to figure out the difference between the 2 that I had mentioned earlier.

The 5527 appears to be the better coil, since it has the higher output voltage, but yet, every place that sells them (part stores, and Ebay alike), sells the 8227 at a considerably higher price than the 5527. Is there some unseen reason that the 8227 would be a better coil than the 5527? Why else would it be more expensive than it's smaller counterpart?
That would be a question for MSD.
