I have an 87 F-250 my horn is quiet and sounds like a import. Looking for a big truck horn. No not an air horn either. Where do I start just a new horn? connections? Please help it sounds that bad I won't even use it.. lol Dan

 

Check that you have a good ground. You may have some rust at the mounting point.

Also, often times a really weak sounding horn can mean one of the typically two horns that come with each vehicle is not working. The more powerful tones we hear are often the work of two horns that are of a different (insert some technical music term here) (pitch?) than one another (sounding off at the same time).

You can buy a single horn for cheap if you find that is the case.
