Exhaust Leak

I just drove my truck for a 2 hour drive sunday and kept smelling exhaust in the cab. I also notice that it will smoke in the engine bay upon start up. So I'm thinking I have an exhaust leak. Is there a doughnut gasket between the exhaust manifold and the pipe? I haven't crawled in there to look yet, just wanted a heads up on what to look for. Thanks

No doughnut, it's a flange fit.

Check for leaks where the manifolds fit to the heads, check for cracked manifolds.

Well I could not find any cracks. But there was some soot around where the manifold and pipe join. After about a week of driving it to work it has cleared up. I read on here somewhere that the turbo to exhaust will soot up and seal itself, I guess maybe that is what happened, i dunno??

Mine were leaking a bit as well, along with a cracked manifold. I just cleaned up the connections with some light sandpaper and bolt them back together.
