I have found a guage kit on amazon from glowshift with a tri pod pillar and boost/egt/trans temp for 199.99. does any one know of a better price for these products. or a better kit?
Can't say I know of a better price but from the reviews I've read you can definatly find a better kit. Seems like most people have pretty poor luck with the gauges and the pod is cheaply made and doesn't fit well. I was looking at the same one and now am thinking I may as well spend the extra dough and be confident in what I purchased
climb in to a semi and look at the gauges, most of them have isspro! millions of trucks with millions of miles, makes sense to me.
my brother in law bought glowshift and they are broken more than not.
here is where I got mine. ISSPRO EV2 Gauge Kits for Ford Powerstroke from DieselManor
my temp gauge is wired to a 12 pole rotary switch, right now I have water temp, transmission temp (5 speed) and rear axle temp, will be adding engine oil temp some day.
The Glow Shift gauges are better than nothing, but do yourself a favor and get better quality gauges. I put them in the 97 because they were cheap, and I got what I paid for. I was a litte smarter and put Ispros in the 96 crew, the 96 C&C got Autometers. Both the latter gauges are way better in my opinion.
Well, I'm gonna have to disagree with everybody here. I have had my Glowshifts for over 3 years now and the only problem I've had is with the fuel pressure sensor. The pod and gauges fit really nice. I have had zero trouble with the boost, egt, and fuel pressure gauges (just the sensor). And for the sensor, they have been really good about sending me a replacement under warrantee. I've had 3 sensors go bad on me, and yes, it's frustrating; but for 1/3 the cost of other gauges, I'll deal with it. If ever they stop warranting the sensor, I'll find a better one somewhere else.
I run quite a few glowshifts in my truck and have had no problems with them. I have a 3 yr old glowshift and a fairly new autometer egt gauge, one on each bank. They are real close to the same as far as readings.
