Wrong Year??
It's quite probable I have made a 'blue', not only in identifying incorrectly, but inserting in the wrong timescale. I posted a query in the 67-72 "Bumpside" category, when quite possibly I had the wrong year entirely.
I was seeking information on what I was reasonably sure was a 1968 F350, but everyone tells me that the F350 changed from a 6 lug wheel/rim to an 8 lug rim? What also threw me out was going by photos of both F trucks, mine had the blinker indicators below the grille. As explained in the full text in the other forum, I have no paperwork, no tags, no placards can't even find a chassis number on the vehicle. Now I am not even certain as to what rear axle is under it. I took it to be the Dana 60, having the full floater with 8 studs holding the axle caps on, but I have since been informed that it may indeed be a Dana 70. I reckon as there are no tags (on the axle or housing) that the only way is to get under it with a pressure washer and/or wire brush and see if I can't raise a few axle setting numbers.
So, I have worked out so far, inline six 240 engine, NP435 4speed transmission, 135 inch wheelbase, either Dana 60 OR 70 rear, coil spring I beam front axle on SIX (6) stud rims. The cab throws me, in a shocking state, but would the later (67-72) cab be able to be grafted onto a pre 67 chassis? Perhaps somebody simply changed to a later grille, I am not all that well up on early Ford trucks, can only rely on what I describe and what others tell me. And, so far as I have said, I've made some errors as indeed have many other well meaning people.
What would be handy would be if someone has an OFFICIAL line setting ticket (as in International Trucks) for both the 1962-1966 and the 1967-1972 Ford F250/F350. That way I could compare just exactly what running gear was used in each model. I have tried several different forums, but so far this particular one seems to be the most promising. I did see a reference to another Australian bloke doing a full rebuild on a 1966 F350, but back in 2006, can't seem to locate him amongst the members here though. Pity, because he probably could have given me a few more clues, I'm running out of them!
Cheers, Dave64

1967/98 F350's have 8 lug wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle.
1967 was the first year that F350's have Twin-I-Beam front suspension.
Some 1961/62 F350's have a Timken rear axle, some have a Dana 70 rear axle.
All 1963/79 F350's have a Dana 70 rear axle except 1979 F350 4WD's that have a Dana 60.
1967 F100/750: You push the inside door handles forward to lock the doors, 1968/72 F100/750's have door lock *****.
Grilles ~ Left upper: 1964/66 (1961/63 similar to 1964) / Right upper: 1967/69.
Left lower: 1970 / Right lower: 1971/72.
But I got ta say becoming a supporter is the fastest and easiest way to post pics right from
your whatever pad/cell thing or home computer.
Few of us look in the users Gallery or album as you can see by your recent visitors.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.
While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket
Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).
When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).
Your pic will be placed in the post.
Hope that helps.
Here's a tutorial Bob put together: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/67...-pictures.html Bob's link is not working. Can someone in the know tell me why?
How to upload pictures to the FTE Forums. - YouTube. Thanks Sam Rusty_Old_F250. Best we can find is that this video was done by Gundown64
If you go to the forum here under the heading "6 OR 8 Stud wheels", I posted a full description of both the wheels that I took off yesterday, as well as some numbers off the rear axle.
Door handles? Have ONE OF EACH! Left side locks with the actual handle, right side locks with push button!. This thing has what I call a reverse Elliot front axle on coils with two trailing arms, so if that is what you guys call Twin I beam, that's what it is. NOT ordinary truck leaf spring.
Someone sent me a composite photo of all F truck grilles from 52 onwards. With the indicators UNDER the headlights, 4 vertical divisions, 5 horizontal SHOULD say it's 68, but again, that front axle and the wheel stud pattern throws the whole shooting match out the window! I am going to stick my head up and say that either someone has grafted another cab on an earlier chassis, or at least a later grille, OR, what is far more likely, over here in OZ they were simply using up all surplus components left over from the old models that overseas manufactures had a habit of doing. I don't have a problem with that other than it does make it hard to positively identify things somewhat.
Thanks for all the help, will try and send in a photo, but quite frankly I have enough trouble answering an email, let alone following directions on computers. Give me something to pull apart mechanically any day!

a couple it's gets much easier M8. Sounds like ya may have like a one off if
this is a factory job. Even for Oz. Can ya get the vin off the frame and compare
it to the other one?
Please try the pic posting. At least try and put some in an album or gallery on here
for us. This truck I have got to see.

If ya don't want ta pony up the 20 bucks to be a supporter and make pic
posting easy, Than open a photo bucket account an do it that way.
Or just go and drag a yungin in out of the bush and buy him/her a
beer to help ya.

Is it a bump side body or a slick? I've not figured that out yet.
