Sounds like classic symptoms of a non-functioning glow plug system. Have the GPR and the glow plugs been tested?

It would still start without glowplugs wouldn't it?
Like it went from a running truck to not starting at all.

if you have white smoke then it sure sounds like glow plug relay or plugs not all working. As mentioned plug it in fir few hours and if it starts that confirms it unless you have bad injector poppet valves

That completely changes things. If it just quit while driving, the glow plug system isn't the suspect. I'd change the CPS first if I didn't have access to a scan tool. They're about $35 at the dealership. Tell him not to use aftermarket for that, they have a nasty habit of causing more problems.

Its been changed theres a list of stuff in my first post he already did.

No scanner and no easy access to one , so that's why he was trying a few things before getting it towed to Ford

OK. Well, if all that has been done, I can't think of anything that stands out as a smoking gun. Did he mention whether the SES light came on or not?
