One year

I have now had my 2012 XL SD CC for one year and the odometer only reads 6200 miles. I have towed my travel trailer 3 times this past year and I love the way it tows.
Gripes: I don't like the seat because I can't seem to get the seat and steering wheel to fit my body and legs. Also I have noticed that when making a turn the steering wheel does not want to make any kind of return on its own. But, I am willing to live with these two problems.
My DW's 05 Chevy 1500 CC feels a sports car in comparison to the SD when I drive hers. The SD just feels big. I can't imagine what a long bed would feel like. I guess I have not got used to it yet.

Congrats on the year. I just passed six months and only have 4200 on mine. I know what you mean about the steering, it is elec assist and takes some getting used to. Some have added a steering stabilizer, but I don't know if that would affect the return. As for the seats, I love em. I'm 5' 8" and I find them more comfortable than the seats in my '09 Fusion. I do have the power seat on the drivers side though, which allows more fine tuning. I see you have an XL, so maybe yours isn't power?

Well anyway, enjoy your truck, if those are your only issues I'd say you're doing well.

The steering is the first thing I noticed during the test drive before I bought mine,it does not bother me it did'nt take long to get used to it.I love the seat in mine,I have the power seat and after moving it around a bit I found the perfect position.

I have had mine for 10 months. I have the 8' bed and she is huge, turning radius is huge. I get stuck in some cul-de-sacs around town some times if I don't hug the curbs. My seats are awesome, the king ranch leather is nicely broken in. I am 5-9, and very easy to get comfy. On the other hand, My wife's EXPY king ranch not near as comfy, I can not find a good spot.

I got the 2014 172WB SD and it turns so much better than my 02 172WB SD. I can u turn on streets I had to stop and back up and then turn again.. I am happy Ford made the cornering so much better..172 is a monster of a truck but the steering is a huge plus that I just love now..

I would agree. My new 2012 6.2L 350 SD CC 4x4 172WB is a monster also, but I thought the ease of handling and the turning radius was very good. Have not had a lot of experience in it yet, except for a rather extended test drive. Loved it and bought it. Can't wait until the dealer gets my add-ons done and I can get on the road.

I've had my 2012 SD reg cab 4x4 XL for six months now and have 4,800 miles on it, all of it short trips around town really between 1 and 20 miles each. Getting ready to go to GA from NJ - pick up a 20' trailer and then down to Florida and back to NJ. I am looking forward to see how she does on a long trip.

My ONLY complaint is room in the standard cab. If I want to recline the seat back at all I need to move the seat forward. Other than that I love the truck.

Happy Trails my friends - keep the shiny side up !

I'm coming up on my one year anniversary in my 13 F 250 4x4 screw Lariat. Love this truck. This truck is the best heavy duty truck that money can buy. (in my opinion) Very capable and has all the luxury that you could want in a heavy duty truck.
