I am looking for a lighting solution not for my 6.7, but for my duck boat... I am looking for a somewhat affordable option to replace the current PIAA (circa 1996) halogen driving lights mounted to the bow of my duck boat. These PIAA's are pretty bright and do a fair job, but with all the LED and HID light technology developed in the last 20 years, I'm sure there is an better option for an affordable price. Power consumption is not really an issue as I have a dedicated high quality deep cycle marine battery for the electronics on the boat. I've read a few threads on the Rigid Industry fog light options and I'm sure they would work great, but I'm looking to spend no more than $400 for 2 lights.
I'm looking for maximum light output, a somewhat focused beam (possibly flood light combo if affordable), waterproof (they won't be submerged (I hope)), and a cost effective option. Looks are not important whatsoever.
If any of you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate if you'd reply.
Try Amazon and look for Tuff Lights. I have no experience with them but the reviews are good and they look a lot like the Rigids. Looks like you get into them for under $100. The motorcycle crowd thinks pretty highly of them as well.
You could get the rigids for under 400$, I think my 4 small ones were around that price. Rigid actually has "marine" lights, I have no experience with those lights though.
I got my Rigid D2's on amazon for 279 for the pair. I must of caught them on sale cause they are like 320 now but still a good deal. Would give plenty of light. BTW you can get a pair of duallys for 150 bucks or so.
