Ecoboost bumper grill insert

There have a number of posts and threads concerning the lower grill insert for the EB trucks. 2014 brought us a new factory part that can be purchased either from your Ford dealer or from Tasca parts.

The stock number is: EL3Z-17K945-AA

This number works at both Tasca and the dealer. Today I called Tasca to order the grill AKA "cover" and I was informed by the gentleman on the phone that I may have better luck purchasing my part from my local dealer. The reason he gave was that there have been some quality issues in that some mounting clips have been broken upon arrival to the customers residence.

So, I took his advice and I called my dealer and ordered the grill insert today for $49.95. I'll post a pic when I get it installed.

One of our FTE brothers, Nasty has a beautiful 2011 FX4 with the 2014 grill insert and it does a great job of completing the gaping hole that Ford kindly left on these trucks. It doesn't threaten to obstruct air flow and it definitely won't affect any warranty claims as Ford sells it.

Hope this helps someone.

You are right Tim. Mine arrived broken. Get it from the dealer so you can inspect it before purchase.

I went ahead and installed it. While it won't come out, those clips will hold it in place better.

The clips are on the back side and should slide into the holes on each side of the opening.

The only problem I see with them being broken is when you are washing your truck you have to be careful around it.

It does finish off the hole nicely.

It completes the look of the front end for sure. I had the dealership install mine at delivery and it does nicely finish off the hole for the intercooler. I'd take a pic, but it's dark, and the Ghost is covered in a nice lovely layer of road salt.

I don't have a very good pic of mine either. Just this picture I took in my garage. Don't feel bad Chandler my truck is currently covered in road salt too.

Anytime Tim! It's strange how something so minor can really dress up the front end of the truck.

Hey guys,
I see these types of billet grille's on Ebay(link below). Are you saying that these grille's will cause a problem with air flow?

That one shouldn't obstruct airflow very much. However, I love "OEM upgrades" and this piece from Ford just fits nicely. It's tasteful and works.

I'm not knocking the aftermarket options like the one you've shown, or the very pricey "Boost Bars" which look great but I wasn't impressed with their fit after reading many reviews.

I had that exact billet grill on mine for about 6 months, it fell apart and has since been recycled. Even though I never had any issues with the trucks performance, I was still worried that if an issue did occur, Ford's position on that grill would have been less than favorable.

Nice. I would want it in the brushed aluminum look to fit the Platinum grille. Any ideas?

Nice Tim! That might be a mod I do for mine is get the lower grill. Cleans up that mouth down there LOL. I also need to replace my Ford emblem on the grill. took a few rocks going through a construction zone and the laminant is now peeling off. Might make it worth it and order both.

From the pics it looks a bit better but for the most part it still looks like a big hole in the front.

I really like the ones that look like the grill...but would hate to buy one and have t obstruct too much airflow.

Google a company called "Boost Bars".

They are plastic, and just snap in place. A member here RuffRider has one on his RubyRed Plat and it looks really good. It's about $125 if I remember correctly. I liked the look, but not for that kind of coin and the fact that it just sits there. The maker does not have a way to securely fasten these.

I originally Googled 'Boost Bars' and got chocolate nutrition bars. :-missing

I do like the look of the chrome two bar insert billet grille.
