Thanks for the link how hard is it to reinstall any tricks I found the side pieces in the bed just missing top and bottom. Since its so cold the rubber isn't that pliable so I'm guessing heat gun might be handy
You talking the 1/4 wide plastic chrome strip that goes in the weatherstrip groove or the wide metal chrome pieces that mount in the weatherstrip groove?
1973/76 F100/350 & 1977 F100/350 before serial number O80,001 use Stainless Steel Windshield Reveal Mouldings.
D3TZ-1003110-E .. Windshield Weatherstrip-Use with stainless steel windshield reveal mouldings.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1977 F100/350 from serial number O80,001, 1978/79 F100/350 & Bronco use a one piece flexible Plastic Chrome Windshield Reveal Moulding and a Joint Clip.
D7TZ-1003110-B .. Windshield Weatherstrip-Use with one piece flexible plastic chrome windshield reveal moulding.
Both types of mouldings have to be installed in the groove of their specific weatherstrip first...then the weatherstrip is installed on the glass.
Serial number is the last 6 digits of the VIN
Scroll down past the door edge guards to see the pic of 1973/77 Stainless Steel Windshield Reveal Mouldings.
Well ok here goes, yes I do not always or even sometimes know or have the exact name right. Only describing it to my best and simplest ability, you know kinda call it like I see it....
But, I do know that I have actually seen and had hands on 2 different type seals. One has a 1/4" (? guess) wide (made of) rubber/plastic (color looks like) chrome strip that goes inside a groove to hold it apart, once you get the windshield installed.
Rear window seal was the same way on a slider window, not to sure on solid glass.
And I have removed a # of wide (ok, as wide as the complete seal itself) metal chrome piece that mounts in a slit in the seal? It looked like a T and the bottom of the T fit in a slit, that is how it was mounted when I removed it.
Maybe not OEM seal description or the correct names, but I am only trying to help. Got any other part's manual pics of different seals styles? Like a none chrome cover strip seal?

BTW I copy and saved that diagram pic, thanks.
The C/D catalog shows the WRONG plastic chrome moulding, why I didn't post a pic of it. For a few months, FoMoCo sold this moulding in sections, later replaced it w/a one piece moulding and one joint clip.
As I've mentioned before, the C/D was scanned from an early edition of the 1973/79 catalog...which has errors and omissions. It's better than nothing, but...
This is why I have the 10/88 final edition on microfiche...as it's reliable. I bought it from FoMoCo in 2007...price was 110 bucks.
I only bought the C/D (last April) to post pics from it, but some of the pics like some of the text, are unreliable.

So at least you are agreeing that there is a plastic chrome moulding and it is one piece? A pic is sometimes worth a 1000 words, even right or wrong it gives a person a visual to go with.
So no reliable information or pic of a different type of OEM seal, one that takes this plastic moulding? Thanks for trying and explaining the error in the c/d.
By the way, to put the 1/4" strip in the rubber, you need a special tool. You can do it without it, but it took me 3 hours without the tool, and 10 minutes WITH the tool. Your call.

Post 8: I listed the part number for the weatherstrip for the one piece flexible plastic chrome moulding.
