hey guys new here but have owned a few ford trucks over the years. anyway i picked up a y2k 250sd for farm duties the bed was shot and i found a new style bed for a good deal but its missing the tailgate. the tailgate that was on the old style bed is still in good shape. i was wondering if the old gate is interchangeable to the new bed? i know the new gates fit the old beds with some hardware changes and i was assuming the same would apply new style bed with old style hardware and my old gate would work. i guess i could always try it i think the hardware i need to change is around $10-$20. thanks for any info

If your hardware isn't rusted on the old bed you could use it on the new bed to make the tailgate work...
The only hardware differences are the left side hinge. If you use a propane torch and heat the torks bolts up they will come right out. I say heat because they are loctited. Basically two bolts and the hinge is all thats needed.
