Gas Gaskets

I will be installing my new 38 galnk on Monday. I am thinking of making my own gaskets. What would the proper material be and what kind of sealant?

Does "galnk" mean "gas tank"? What's a "gas gasket"? Gasket for what? There's an o-ring for the sending unit; that's it. What am I missing?

It should be gal tank. My keyboard is getting worn out. I was wondering if there were any gaskets that needed to be put on prior to installing in the truck.

The only gasket I know of is for the sending unit.

A couple of bike inner tubes cut to fit make good isolators for the tank staps

Thanks for the replies. One last question:
will the bronco sending unit work with this tank? I found a few broncos at the yard (done in by the seahawks

) and i'm thinking about picking up the skid plate and a sending unit, if it fits.

What is this going in? 78-79 Broncos could have either a 25 1/2 gallon tank or 33 gallon tank. You need the right sending unit. 33 gallon is more common.
