What I have. 74 F100 2wd 302 auto. What I m putting in, 5.0 EFI AOD From 93 E150 conversion.
Plan on wiring. replacing all of Chassis wiring with harness from van.
Problems, digital odometer, vss on rear end, hooking up light switch, wiper switch, horn turn signals etc.
Digital odometer and vss, 3 options, Graphed Instrument panel into truck and swap rearend, or if spot in tranny for vss graphed IP into truck and put sensor in tranny. Same wiring? Option 3, if tranny has spot for vss, ford has a vss that is both mechanical and electric, hide PSOM in dash and use regular gauges. Will the mechanical and electric vss work with PSOM?
Inside the cab. Have wiring schematic for both vehicles, but don't know what wires do when they come out of switches. Schematics have changed over the years. any and all help would be good here. Planning on using fuse block and alot of van harness for interior also.
First goal was AOD, but I would like the EFI also. I got the van for whatever scrap is so thought I would upgrade everything. All I really want is AOD With the EFI. This will be driven more often and it will become towing rig for camper. Really just thought it would be easier to swap over most of the harness for efi and some of the other things I wanted.
That van is old enough to where I believe the efi harness is still separate from the vehicle harness. I am not sure I would go through all that wiring change and dash change, I think I would keep the old harness to run the old truck lighting and body.
Do some research on the AOD. The older ones had a spot for the cable speedo. It might be just a matter of installing the gear on the output shaft and changing the tailshaft. That's just a guess though.
I didn't know the efi wiring was seperate. Well that does make a difference. Weather has been bad here and I haven't really wanted to jack up van to see what the tranny has. Thanks. I will hopefully be able to get into it more in march.
