THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE AD just to be clear. I'm wondering what the "reasonable" going price is for a 2000 V-10 from my Ex (that runs perfectly) and 4x4 transmission both with 135,000 miles. Also most of the wiring and control modules would be with it. I'm going to be doing a swap for a PSD very soon and figured I'd sell my V-10 when I'm done but I've seen ads anywhere from $850-$2,800. Is in the middle of that wide range ($1,800) legit???
Good to take some video of the engine/tranny working before extraction to help the future buyer assess condition.
Good advise! I was also thinking of listing it in a few places a few weeks before I pull it and let potential buyers take it for a drive....with me in the passenger seat.
How much are you estimating it will cost to do the swap? At some point, I would like to do the same.
I had someone who owed me a large chunk of money and he was still broke so I told him I would give him $1,500 and he would give me his 01 SD and our debt would be settled. So short story long.....Now I have a donor and I've set aside another $3,500 to make it a total of $5,000 to do the swap and some mods to the PSD.
Might it be worth it to put the V10 and transmission into the Super Duty to have a second complete vehicle?
I would do that and probably make more $$ selling the SD as a runner but a buddy has offered to buy the truck with no drivetrain or suspension for a fair price. I guess he's going to build another mud truck out of it. The details of his builds are always top secret but I'm sure it'll be insane as always! lol

Sweet Ex btw 03prerunner! Trunk Norris Awesome name!
Thx! It needed some work when I found it in the backwoods of Maine, but I've worked most of the kinks out. Just replaced all the shocks yesterday. Rides like a caddy now.
