Gentleman just a feel good story here.

The used truck exhaust manifolds are on and were exactly the fix for routing the exhaust, replaced the car manifolds that came with the engine swap. Talk about frame clearance. Gotta fix that notch next.

The used frame stands, engine mounts, and engine brackets from an 86 F-350 with 460 are on replacing the homemade converted 351 stands and abused mounts. Suddenly the bind in the starter and clutch linkage is gone. The fan is were it belongs in the shroud and the engine roll when revved is greatly reduced. Ahh what a beautiful day.

The new 2.5" dual exhaust wioth 50 series mufflers a dream.

Next up converting the butchered clutch back to hydraulic. First I need a bellhousing and components.

Glad to here it all worked out for you. I figured the proper engine mount parts would take care of your alignment problem.

Did you get the ones off eBay, I notified you about?

Yes I did and thank you very much. Meant to post a special thanks to you for that glad you saw this post. Had a bit of a bidding war for them during the last day. Good thing I checked in right before the auction closed, still got a good deal on them. Received the wrong brackets first shipment but the guy made an honest mistake and sent out the right ones immediately. Thanks for putting me onto them. Also thanks for the help with choosing the right manifolds. Know anything about heater components?

I hear that on the bidding wars, I have been outbid right when the item has came down. Boy that gives you an attitude for a while.

Whats up with your heater?

If I can't help you, someone can on here!

Yes, that was my first auction and luckily I won, but recently on another I lost in the last 4 seconds by a $, makes one's attitude a little sour for awhile.

I posted the heater question on the heating cooling forum and under the 86 forum, no luck. I know the guys on here are real helpful but feel pretty ackward about posting it here, thought perhaps you might know as I have come to trust your advice and have seen you around the other forums.

In general the truck came with factory air which the prior owner gutted and tossed during the engine swap. The engine is a 71 the truck an 86. Since I don't plan to ever spend the big bucks to replace all the AC stuff, and who knows what I would need to peice together for the 71/86 mesh, and the heater blower is shot and needs replaced I am looking to change out the with AC unit to non-AC unit. I have asked a few salvage yards if the covers mounting to the firewall are the same minus AC hose connections so I can change it out along with the controls and blower motor. I need the hi-lo deluxe heater I have dash vents and multispeed fan settings.

Oh FYI, the mounts on the truck before were the 351's with slots home cut and using 460 mounts. Took the shop 3 hours to remove and install the replacements do to all the welding and mis-alignement. It is amazing how much nicer everything is with the right stuff and it looks so smooth and factory. Just the way i am I like a clean smooth look.

To the best of my knowledge the heater plenum swap should be an un-bolt and bolt in, for going from an A/C unit and a non A/C unit.

The clean mounting is exactly why I got all Ford stuff to swap my 460 into my 82. It made me feel more secure in the fact that everything is mounted as it should be. The 460 looks like it came in it. I may have spent a little more money doing it this way, but oh well. I feel if its worth doing, its worth doing it right.
