I am happy with my california turbo's. I looked at the flowmaster's but then again who doesn't have them? You can also go to ebay and buy a set of repo's for half the price since Flowmaster lost their patent. I think it is 2 for $84. A place in AZ is making them. Also don't fotget to install an X pipe, makes a word of difference. I had to run a full 3 inch exhaust. You can feel the exhuast 4 feet away from the truck at idle. Just remeber what ever exhaust you put on there it's going to be loud. Unless you install some stockers.

Yea, anyone else know where to buy Flowmaster "knockoffs" ??
I just had a Magna Flow wide open series muffler installed along with 3" dia. pipe from the cat. back. I like the sound. Low rumble at an idle, good midrange sound, and make a statement when I really get on it. I looked at the Flowmaster but the dyno ratings were the same. The Flowmaster warrenty was one year. The Magna Flow is a lifetime. The Flowmaster was 175.00 muffler only. The whole setup with the Magna Flow was 175.00 with everything. It all comes down to personal preference as far as sound goes.
Flowmaster 40 series. I have 7 of them. 2 om the 5.0 LX, 2 on the 77 460, 2 on the 63 351W, and 1 on my 2001 5.4.
What kind of Flomaster did you price for $175??? I gave $65 each for mine except for the one on my 2001, I had an exhaust shop supply everything. Didn't give much more that $175 for the whole custom system with 2 1/2" tailpipes and 12" Stainless tips.

What about Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers? I listened to a sound clip on their website and they sound pretty good on a 5.7. I wonder what it sounds like on a 429?

Here's what Borla ProXS mufflers sound like on my 429. This was taken inside the truck. They sound better when you're standing beside it. (the tiny mic on my Sony Mavica doesn't do them justice either)
