MY clutch wont bleed

I just installed a new master/slave cylinder and the line between them and I cant get all the air out I tried what the Haynes said and I tried what the instructions said in that came with the parts and it still wont bleed.

I was hoping to find some tricks or tips on bleeding this system anything will help. Thank you.

have you tried gravity bleeding it for a while. These trucks are stubborn, If you can get just a little bit of pedal then go drive it down some rough roads an it will work the air out pretty quickly

common issue

un-bolt the master and turn it upside down, bang it with a wrench for a while until the you stop seeing air bubbles come up to the reservoir. Then you can continue to bleeding the slave. That is the only way to do it........besides, using a power bleeder, but even those have a rough time with the master.

It's a concentric slave inside the bell housing on the 5.8. Here's how I bled the clutch on my truck. Open bleeder, press pedal to floor, close bleeder, pull pedal back. Do this several times until you get a good stream of fluid out of the bleeder. Then pump and hold the pedal, the open and close the bleeder, then pull the pedal back up. Repeat this a few times and you should be good to go.

yea i did all the conventional styles like pump and bleed and got alot of the air out but its still seems like there is air in the master. I will try the upside down tap gimmick but i did get ahold of a power bleeder this morning im going to try that out today any tips on using those

I don't get how this is going to work - if you turn the master cylinder upside-down, then the reservoir is upside-down, and fluid is going to run out the bottom. How are air bubbles going to be seen coming up thru the fluid when you just dumped it out on the floor?

This problem is a bit unusual - I've never had a problem bleeding the concentric slave just as you bleed brakes. It's the external slave that is usually hard to bleed. I am wondering if you have an air leak somewhere that is letting air in after you bleed it.

As far as I remember, the reservoir and master are not one unit.

That sounds like a good idea. Other than that it will be a slow long process of gravity bleeding.

so i got a new line and it still wouldnt build pressure so i went and got another new master cylinder and that work got that line hard as a rock. I installed it and still nothin so we hooked the vaccum pump to the slave and pulled about a quart though it and it got alittle better but still not relessing the pressure plate. Then we got the pry bar out and started pushing the slave back and a lot of air would come out and that seemed todo the trick but its still really soft.

And I still think that the throwout bearing is ridin the pressure plate. Is that how theyre supposed to run?
