the best handcleaner I have ever used is Maco, Macio something like that it is made in ohio and pink in color . Best hand cleaner you could find but it is excellent as I used it hundreds of times to remove oil and grease from the interior of cars and trucks and never once faded any carpeting. It is still made to this date if you can find it -- I am out of luck as their is no one carrying it around here any longer. I found it by chance in the oil patch- I have personally seen it in detail shops and used car bays- they apperently found the carpet cleaning use as well.
I agree with Kenworth. Fast Orange smooth. I can use it in the shop and just wipe plenty clean enough to keep working without water. The trouble is the smooth is getting hard to find. The grit stuff you can't get off easily without water and then it leaves another mess in the sink. Some hand cleaners it is mandatory to wash again with soap to get the hand cleaner off, and you have to rub for five minutes to get it to "break" so it will work, especially if it and your hands are cold.
I found some "Soft Scrub" cleanser with mild abrasive by Clorox under the sink once. I think it's for cleaning the stool!! It really works good for cleaning grease soaked into the dried crevices in your hands.
I have nearly quit using hand cleaner.
Instead, I keep a 5-gallon bucket of strong laundry detergent/water mix with a few shop rags thrown in. I just leave it out by my shop.
It works nicely for washing up, and when it gets foul I dump it on the nearest fire ant mound. (Highly effective too! )
If you have a mop bucket with wringer (plastic industrial style is best), use that and you can also clean your shop rags and work gloves conveniently.
Being able to keep your hands clean so easily makes work go much faster, and preserves domestic bliss by not trashing the house sinks.
Sorry, found it on the internet it is MALCO- I recommend purchasing some just to get oil, grease and other stains out of your carpet-- It is excellent....
wear latex gloves when under the car/truck also helps. Sometimes two pair. I go thru about 5 pair a week just knocking about my vehicles. I buy the 100 per box size and it is great for painting too. Very little hand cleaner needed anymore and I just toss them when done or when they tear.
The best all purpose cleaner I have found is a foamy stuff in a spray can called "Tuff Stuff" and I usually keep several cans in the garage. I have found that it works pretty good as a hand cleaner too.
I also heard that it is what a local car dealer uses for cleaning the interiors of most cars.
