diesel newbie
I'm a gas motor man, but my wife wants to buy a good used diesel truck. newer ones come with the 6.oL which I understand had problems upon introduction. what year of truck should we be looking for, when were these problems resolved? thanks for any help...

They put 6.0 in years 2003-2007. The 6.0 has had a bad rap from the get go because of people not understanding them and not properly maintaining them. They do cost more to maintain and that would go for any diesel. The year of truck really isnt as important as if the truck you look at has been properly maintained. 2003-2004 has leaf spring suspension in the front 2005-2007 has coil, better in my eyes.

I total agree with 9228 bobcat and money-pit. Just look around and find the one you want to buy and ask lots of questions about the truck, also if you have any concerns just drop a line here and most anyone here will answer and give you advice. Also welcome to the FTE...
