Guess I am the odd man out here. DELO 15-40 dino since new. 165K and excellent Blackstone reports and zero cold starting issues even when in the teens over night. 3k OCI and clean on the dipstick at change.

I choose the current cheapest from a list of proven favorites. Valvoline Premium and Extreme are on my list as well as Rotella.

I currently have Mobil 5-40 in there after the Autozone fiasco.

Interesting! I can see the logic there.

And hydro man 17, nothing wrong with DELO... Many use it with great success. As I said before.. It's pretty much apples to apples in my opinion. You can't go wrong whichever way you turn.

They never had a tractor supply in our area but they building one as we speak. Can't wait to see all they will be carrying.

Thats not really how oil works. The "logic" is actually not there. It just so happens that the oil is acceptable for our motors but there are plenty of diesel oils that are NOT sufficient for them. Its inadvisable to just say "Works for this, why not for that"

An oil that meets the latest Mack standard should offer the most protection.
