hi new to this but I have 04 f250 v10 and i'm looking to do the exhaust. not looking to spend to much but want something that would sound good. always liked glasspacks but don't know what would sound like on v10. just wondering what others may have done. least of thing thinking swapping out mufflers maybe a y after the cat.
I run my v10 straight piped behind the cat no muffler. It sounds good. Deep rumble at idle loud under load and a little drone while cruising. Don't have neighbors and be straight piped. You can hear me a half mile off.
sound is one thing, low end torque is another, sound will give you higher rpm hp/ tq,
a decent muffler will give you lower rpm hp/tq, your choice.................

Is it single or dual ? do you have tips if so what size ?
CTM. Single 3 1/2 inch pipe in front of the back axle. Haven't found a tip under $30 that will fit in my county lol. Biggest the parts stores carry around here are 3 inch.
from what I have read here 3v's dont do well with mods, mine has a magnaflow muff installed on the stock system including resonator, I've decided just to swap out the muffler with a VT.

that is what seems to be the general outcome. the 3 valves haven't responded well to bolt ons like the 2 valves. more people with 3 valves go with maybe a good sounding muffler and a tuner/programmer. i know 5-star tuning would be able to answer that more.
The 5 star tuning is the best thing I ever did, I am just going to swap my magnaflow for a dynomax vt and keep the stock resonator, the vt is both a chamber and straight thru muffler in one depending if part or wot.
not a bad in cab sound. that would be a good one for my Ex. been hashing out the idea to put a little rumble on it, but with hauling the kids on occasion, i hate to do an extreme flowmaster 40 series lol. to much cab noise. which flopro did you go with?
i was looking at a 50series delta flow or maybe a super 50 flowmaster.
I bought my truck with a stock exhaust, except with a muffler delete. Stock 3" pipe, stock Y, stock cat, no muffler, and I recently put on a 4" tip. Sounds AWESOME. Doesn't crackle like a V8 but still has a good groan to it.
I have a 99 f350 no cat and a aftermarket muffler. Sounds good to me wish I knew which muffler as I just bought a 2002 and would like to duplicate the sound.
