Question Oil cooler question....

If I remove the oil cooler can I just put the oil filter on?
Meaning is there a fitting thing to screw it on to.
Or is there something I need?

Why do you want to remove the oil cooler in the first place

If you remove the cooler housing, you have to replace it with an oil filter housing that does NOT have provisions for the oil cooler lines.

The simple answer to your question is, no. You cannot simply remove the housing and screw on an oil filter in place of the housing.

I am chasing a Coolant leak to oil..
I had a buddy change the oil cooler and the problem seemed to go away..
a few hundred miles later I'm getting oil in the coolant again.
Just wanted to rule out that it might be the Oil Cooler again..

I'm not worried about the coolant lines I was just going to connect them together to see if the Cooler is the Problem.

I didn't do the Cooler So I'm not sure what was under it??
As far as just being able to put a filter on or not..

The local Dealer is not showing anything else than the Cooler and the Pipe piece that comes with it..
As far as an adapter or something to go inplace of the Cooler.

Thanks
for the Replies..
Thanks
John
