I own a 79 F250 4x4 snofighter package that is a bad *** truck. I would put it up against almost anything. But the king of 4x4's is the 79 F350 to me you can't get any better than that!!!!!!

There is a 1959 F750 4x4 with a swivel frame would be untouchable in an all-terrain comparison by any 73-79 truck, but we aren't going to go there.
Just have to ask what is it about the 78 and 79 trucks that makes them any better in 4x4 offroading than the other 73-79 4x4 trucks?

only thing i can think of (and could be wrong also) is they have a better steering set-up. i have a 79 but until this thread i didnt realize there was such a demand for a 79 f250

The F350 has a dana 60 up front and a dana 70 in the rear, better brakes.There are other differences. I looked for a 79 F350 for 2 years and one under 10 grand that wasn't a pile and could not find one so I bought my truck.
