Light Bar on ebay (CHEAP)

Alright boys, I just bought a Light Bar for my X on ebay.

I got it today and it DOES look good and quality seems good. It took less than 10 mins to install it (18mm socket for the tow hook bolts).

The guy that sold it to me was pretty cool. It said on his auction page to let him know if I wanted 2 or 4 light tabs. I forgot and HE e mailed to ask me BEFORE he shipped it. Today, that's pretty good service. Shipping was fast too.

Below are links to his store on ebay and one of the actual auctions.
Also a link to pictures of the bar mounted on my X (don't even comment on the color of the truck, it's NOT green. Something with the lights above

http://stores.ebay.com/CHOCCOLOCCO-OFF-ROAD-EXTREME

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...2476QQtcZphoto

http://************.com/excursion/light-bar.htm

Finally a couple of questions.

Should I go with two 8" lights in the middle and two 6" on the sides or all 6"?

THe ones I'm getting ALSO come in 7"

How many lights can I add to it without having to have a new and more powerful alternator?

THanks

George

When replying to WHAT size lights I should buy, consider also that in the future I plan on upgrading to a Road Armor bumper/guard so it needs to look good then too.

It's on this page and it's called the Stealth Bumper with Fleet Guard and if you scroll down, it's a little below the PURPLE rear bumper for the Superduty.
I once took the picture and added some fake lights (like on the picture above) but I can't find it

I don't think so and I even paid a little more than what he's selling them for. I mean, the bar is solid and I put some pressure on it when I had it mounted and it's very sturdy

Sure beats paying 3-400 for a KC bar

What's your opinion on the light configuration?

Dude that looks so good great job. That makes me want to get a light bar. Does it light up the road well and what did you use as the switch.

George

For some reason I like the pic with 2 - 8" in middle and 2- 6" on sides... the size difference saeems to soften the look rather than a solid straight line of lights... just my gut reaction..

Haven't hooked the lights up but when I do, I'll let you know.

THe bar bolts straight on to the tow hook bolts and that took 10 mins with two people.

IF you get a long socket for the lights then that takes 5-10 mins too.

All the wiring is included including a switch which I haven't hooked up like I said.

Bill, I couldn't find anyone that had any 6's and 8's so that I could compare but Autozone had a 7 incher and that thing looked huge so I thought, well shi*, 8 is even bigger so I decided to go the 6" route and also, I'm thinking of upgrading to a road armor bumper in the future and if I do, I'm not sure if there will be room for 8's so this was also looking towards the future.

Yeah, I WAS going to go 6's and 8's but it didn't work out.

Nick, better get online with the dude that makes them because he told me his price was a special to get him introduced. I know 'cause the dude that sold me the lights asked me to ask him if he could supply him with the bars so I checked on the price.
Here's his number and tell him George from NC sent you (never hurts

I also asked if he can do thicker tube and he says 2" is doable too. Mine are 1 7/8 or something.

256-591-5506 Alabama central time zone. 8am to 8 pm

Thumbs down

Sorry guys and gals...
but I feel the need to share here.
The EBay seller CHOCCOLOCCO FAB. INC. and it's owner/Pres. Preston York are a couple of unmoral theives. I'd be happy to share my details with via email if anyone is interested, but I felt it important to warn anyone thinking of doing business with him. Long story short, looks like I'm going to have to take him to small claims court to recieve something from him (my $$ back OR a light bar).

I wonder if we should start a thread in the general section or something that warns about bad experiences on EBAY with certain sellers. I got smoked by one to. Ended up costing me almost $100 CDN. Not enough to bother with small claims court
