I have the auto up/down for both front windows. My auto push button start is the remote.

Ram does it and they have a grid heater that cycles the same as our glow plugs. It is possible - whether or not it is a good idea.

As previously mentioned, we already have push button start by way of our remotes (some trucks anyway). The only real difference then is the location of the button - remote versus dash. The logic for the start would be the same. Obviously, you would need the rest of the package for the fob to work for the keyless entry and keyless start.

I know my remote start (aftermarket) actually has a pause to let the glow plugs cycle. I guess I'm stuck on my escape push start, which is a instant start.

Yeah, but even though they have push button, you still have to turn the key halfway to start the grid system, wait for it to finish then press the button. This pushbutton is worthless at this point and would do the same as turning the key another notch. If you can find a video where the guy gets in presses the button ON a COLD start, and it automatically does the glow plugs or grid system then I would like to see it. I couldn't find one, would be interesting.

Yeah the whole point of the push button is to go keyless. Nothing to carry.
On the Edge, there is no key, just a fob. I leave the fob in the console (there's a special place designed for it). I lock and unlock with the keypad.
We keep a second fob in the house for cold morning remote starts.

Carry no key, no fob. Just unlock, get in and hit the button. Never misplace the keys/fob, nothing in my pockets....Yup, I like push start

I spend quite a few of my hours of free time surfing the Cummins forum. I cannot say that I've seen the system in use, but what I have read repeatedly on their forum is that there is no key except to unlock the doors in the event of a dead battery. They both brag and complain about the lack of a physical key to start their engine. The all say that when they touch the door handle, it automatically unlocks (just like everyone else's does) and the fob stays in their pocket when they get inside and then they push the button on the dash. It cycles the grid heater and then starts (most of the time). This started with the 2013's.

I'm at work and don't have access to YouTube, but do a search on YouTube for "2013 Ram Keyless-Go". The Cummins forum indicates there is a video available.

I am not doubting you, if you are registered on their forum, could you ask for a video of somebody doing a cold start with a push button? I bet Ford will add it soon, but it's too bad ole Ram is now foreign owned.

I'm not registered there. I was a lurker here and on their forum for 5 months before deciding on Ford. I still lurk over there to reinforce my decision. They seem to be a pretty catty bunch, and I would rather stay in the shadows and watch.

I've started two newer rams, non-cummins, they use a fob without the actual key, but you still plug the fob in like a key and have to twist to start, if that makes sense.

My brother has that same system in his 2012 Ram Cummins. A coworker has the identical setup (including the size, shape and function of the fob) in his Mercedes sports car. The years that the Cummins crowd refer to the "keyless go" system are '13 and '14. Prior years have a square tab that fits into a hole in the dash, and gets turned the same way that an actual key would be. There is a traditional key included strictly for the drivers door and tailgate.

ah ok, the two I used had the square tab, plug in and twist. Must have been 11/12 rams then

A push start would just have a delay like the remote start.
Maybe a message after pushing it to prevent someone from pushing it again thinking it's not working.

We have the flick start method, what more does everyone want?

The window auto up/down on both front doors was an upgrade for the 2013 model year trucks, just have to have power windows.
