Crown Vic swap/computer reprogramming
This may not be the right place to ask this, if not please move to the appropriate section.
I'm interested in doing a Crown Vic swap into an old F100 and have been doing lots of research but the one thing I have been unable to get any info on is reprogramming the computer. I know you can do almost anything you want with the PCM in a GM LS swap (been there done that) but all the Crown Vic swaps I come across, no one has mentioned reprogramming the ECM. Does anybody do this, if it can even be done? Things like deleting security, emissions, rear O2 sensors etc.

Sounds encouraging. My plan is to use an '03-05 for the donor into my '68. Now I just need to find someone around here who can do the programming. I asked the guy who did my LSX Blazer programming and he just looked at me like I was speaking Russian. Seems he only does chevy. Anybody know of a shop near Pt. Huron Mi. (north of Detroit)?

If your going to use a Vic power train I would use the 2001 to 2004, 01 was the first year for the PI(performance improved) engine with 245hp, the earlier 2000 and older only had 215hp, 2005 and newer are drive by wire, also I would use the police car Vic as a donor due to the police car not having a PATs(Passive Anti-theft) system.
Be warned that the 4.6 PI in the Vic is not a torque monster, the 4.6 out of a truck due to a different intake manifold IE. longer runners has a lot more torque but runs out of breath by about 5,400 rpm.
