He is always criticizing me and now you are too. You never said anything about Ross's endless rants as I listened quietly.

I prefer the OEM system personally, I could see if your rig is not up to par ( bad vacuum lines, rust etc.) and your on a budget I understand. Do what you need to do.
But that's the point; If the locking part is still good why not keep them or just get some good used oem's. Mine have 170k miles on them and usually they are fixable.

Doesn't Warn make the OEM hubs? If this is true, then I have Warn hubs Just wish they were chrome

I have a good stock hub collects dust and a broken one. I just don't trust them the warns I do. The more complex the more that can go wrong. Vacuum lines pump ext. Its personal choice no right or wrong

I researched my own statement to see if what I thought was true. It does look like Warn is the OEM manufacturer. They were selected as the Pulse Vacuum Hub Lock manufacturer for the SuperDuty in 1998 (I assume the Ex has the same hub), but they did the hubs for Ford before then as well.
Warn Industries - WARN Power Systems: A History of Innovation

And they proudly announced the improved hub locks for the 2005 SuperDuty.

So, we're all Warn hubbers in our Ex's

I do remember something about that and I doubt if the chrome Warns have a better failure record that the stock ones even though everyone justifies getting them because they are "better made".

Most people don't usually swap out their OEM's for Warn's unless their OEM's are shot.

The Warn hubs are cheaper than OEM replacements, so it isn't because they are "better made" it's because they are cheaper and more cost effective.

What I am saying is there are tons of cheap and good OEM's around because a LOT of people buy the Warns even though the stock ones are still good. I see it in here all the time. The ESOF goes out and then they think they are junk so they just throw money at the Warns thinking it will solve all their problems. Also; many people get the Warns because the dial sticks on the stock ones but that can easily be fixed in a couple of ways.

I wish I could have found some when my stockers went south. I didn't want the Warn hubs, I wanted the stockers for my wife's Ex.

Actually, I wish I had known about the servicing procedure you posted a few years ago, BEFORE my OEM's went bad.

The ESOF goes out and then they think they are junk so they just throw money at the Warns thinking it will solve all their problems.
I'm not saying that doesn't happen. I'm just saying it's been my experience that most guys ditch the stock hubs for Warn hubs when the hub switch goes bad and can't be serviced, like happened to me.
